4C Hair up Close!

Hey Guys,
Just wanted to show you my hair up close and personal. I had cowashed my hair followed by Kinky Curly Knot Today as the leave in. My hair was still damp in this picture, but look how happy it is? The moisture and conditioner does help my hair coil better.

Hair Update 4C

Love bugs! Herro there!

Here's the most recent picture of my hair taken yesterday.
The picture is to show off the eye shadow look but you can still get a feel of my hair (at least I think you can..let me know otherwise).

The only products in my hair are water, Kinky Curly Knot Today, and Coconut Oil.

It's a braidout, that I've pinned to the side. I'm learned that I favor braidout results over twist out results. Reason being that my hair is better stretched in braidouts, however braiding takes longer than twists. When I want more volume, twist outs are the way to go. I suppose I prefer length over volume for the time being. However, even in a stretched state my hair is very voluminous.

The front of my hair touches my chinny chin chin now and the sides and back touch and surpass my collar bone when straightened.

That's about it for now..let me know if you have any questions

Fabulous Twist out on 4C hair

Hey lady loves.

So here's the twist out I wore this weekend.

Enjoy the pics. Lemme know if you have any questions.

Let me explain: I washed my hair the day before, put Kinky Curly Curling Custard and Knot Today in my hair  and twisted my hair. Next morning, I realized that my hair was funkily dry. So I spritzed my hair with water, put a little bit of Carol's Daughter Black Vanilla Conditioner (not the leave-in) on my hair and sealed the ends with a very teeny bit of Shea butter. Sprayed hair with a little bit of Carol's Daughter Black Vanilla Leave in Conditioner when I was done (really for its awesome smell). Twisted my hair and let it dry.

Took em out  = Twist out below =D

I also lightly stretched my hair by pulling my twists and blow drying it some. It worked, but I'm a tad afraid of putting too much heat on my hair. It was blow dried no more than 5 minutes..it was enough to give me a bit more volume.

This shit is so sexayyyy!
Some pics, my hair looks shorter than others. This is because I took more pics when I got home. I hung out in SF  (Haight) to watch drunken people have a blast at the Bay to Breakers. Can we say WINDY!! Hence..the shrinkage (but I don't mind it)

About a month ago, I wasn't able to pull my hair past my bottom lip. It barely touched my upper lip =D I'm happy with the progress! Actually, It comes pretty close to my chin when I comb my hair out in the shower...hopefully I'll be past chin length in July/August.

I don't know if any of you care to see the top of my head..but me no care..I'm showing it to ya'll anyhow. I'll need to get a new  tripod so that I am better able to capture what my hair looks like from all angles (i.e the back of my head).

Twist Out on 4C Hair

This is the hurr today.
I've had my hair in a yarn braids the last two months and decided to take them out for two reasons: 1. tired of em, 2: My hairline was beginning to get thin from all the up-do's I was wearing.
In that 2 month period of time, my hair grew A LOT! Look at previous posts and see the growth for yourselves!

Now, my hair is getting to a length where my twist outs kind of fall..but not really..so I've been having to pull my twists into a ponytail (which I can do now YAY!) at night. I think tonight, I'm just going to twist my hair and not put it in a pony tail and see what happens. I'll post a picture tomorrow for ya'll.

As far as products go, I washed my hair with Aussie's MOIST Shampoo (it has sulfates in it for those of you who care) and Aussie's Moist conditioner. My hair was REALLLLY dry on Saturday so I slept with the conditioner in my hair over night. Miraculous results indeed, my hair was no longer course course course and dry.
Then I applied Kinky Curly Knot Today in sections of my hair and followed it up with Kinky Curly's Curling custard as I 2 strand twisted my hair. This is day 3 hair. Last night (night 2) I sprayed my hair with the Spiral Spritz  and water to rejuvenate my hair and this morning, it felt moisturized and throughout the day it has been so soft!
Honestly, Aussie's Moist Shampoo and conditioner, and Kinky Curly's Knot Today, Curling Custard and Spiral Spritz are going to be staple products for a long time. Yes, I still experiment with products like no other (no room under the bathroom sink for more products), however, I am extremely pleased to have something I can definitively turn to if the shit hits the fan with my other products!
